Nothing is as satisfying as meat and potatoes, cooked together and topped with some savory spices. It's easy to make and is often served as a main dish or for lunch. It is served with a light salad or Greek yogurt. This meat and potato mixture can also be used for making a sandwich and add some fresh sliced tomatoes to the sandwich and it tops it off. Ingredients 5-6 large Russet potatoes peeled and cubed (or any potato you like) 1 lb lean ground beef (or lamb) 1 cup chopped onion 6 tbs olive oil 2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp cinnamon yogurt Directions To start peel and cut into cubes 5 or 6 large Russet potatoes or potato of your choice. IN a large pot add 3 tbs olive oil then add ground meat and 1 tsp salt and cook for 5 minutes on medium high heat until brown. Next add chopped onions and cook for another 5 minutes. Add another 3 tbs olive oil and stir in potatoes, add 1 tsp salt and black pepper, stir and cover, cook on medium low heat for 30 minutes and toss half way through, make sure potatoes are tender. To serve, put potatoes in a nice serving plate and sprinkle cumin and cinnamon on top. Serve with pita bread and yogurt, tzatziki sauce or salad.

gona make this dish again tonight tastes great thanks dede

@sabu4646ar I would brown the meat first on the stove top and then put it all together and in the oven :)
By: dedemed
I had a quick question. If I wanted to cook this in the oven, rather than on the stove, how would I go about doing that? Could I just try all the stuff in the pot and throw it in the oven, or would I have to let the meat cook first then add the potatoes?
By: sabu4646ar
