Hummus with Meat is a variation of the traditional hummus dish. This dish is a bit more heartier than the traditional hummus and can actually be served as more of a main dish with crispy pita bread and a nice salad. Ingredients 2 cups traditional prepared hummus - see Dede’s Hummus recipe 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 lb ground beef 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp Dede’s seven spices 1 tbs butter 1/2 cup pine nuts 1 tbs chopped parsley 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil Directions Spread prepared hummus in a flat dish. Sprinkle paprika on top. In a skillet brown the ground beef on medium heat for 10 minutes, to it add the salt, black pepper and 7 spices. Sprinkle the ground beef on top of hummus. In another pan, melt the butter and add the pine nuts and brown on low heat until lightly browned, sprinkle on top of ground beef and hummus. On top of the pine nuts sprinkle the parsley and drizzle the olive oil. Serve with pita or toasted pita chips.

Hello Dede, thank u for ur reply, but I found out recently that it is a very long process, so I dropped it. Yummmmiii, I tried this many times, yet my current endeavor is to find the recipe for "AWARMA" also in ohter latin-Arabic form "2awarma", I don't know where it comes from but I know that involves lots of fat and its kinda heavy, well it would be once in year treat. I tried it with hummus once and never got the recipe.Anywhooo, I wondered if you'ld know how to make it, I think it involves beef, lamb meat and lots of lamb fat???and it keeps like forever.BTW, I have bookmarked your website, nice.

Ive never thought of using meat with Hummus but I took your idea and ran with it, heres what I made: I grilled NY steaks then sliced them like stir fry meat, fresh sliced or julienne tomatoes, cucumbers and basil, I dont like Del much. Pita bread or warm Tortilla, spread the Hummus on the Pita beard or the Tortilla, tomatoes, cucumber, a spoon or so Yogurt, sprinkle with basil or del, olive oil, roll them or just fold or stuff the pita bread. I hope you like it, I did ;)
