Written by

This is a new elegant way to serve hummus as an appetizer. You can use any of the several flavors of hummus by DedeMed. It's easy to make and can definitely be made in advance when hosting a dinner party. This is also great for tapas or tea events, the bite sized pieces are filling yet flavorful. Ingredients 2 cups Dede's Hummus (or ready made hummus) 1 pack ready made pie pastry olives, parsley and paprika for garnish Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out pie pastry to 1/16 to 1/8 inch flat, with a knife, cup or circle cutter cut out circles about 2 inches in diameter. Mold each cirlce in a mini muffin tin or mold, cook for about 12-15 minutes, remove and let cool completely. In a piping bag or plastic sandwich bag add hummus and pipe neatly into each mini crust. Springle each piece with some paprika, add an olive and parsley leaf and serve.

I've watched a few of your videos now and I really do like how you show the detail of what to do. SO many times, I've come across videos for cooking that I really want to try, but, when detail is missing, it throws the viewer off. So, if it's a new recipe, I appreciate the time you take to show the steps the right way. Thanks!

well thanks I appreciate your support :)

excellent recipe! to make the circles, i turn over a drinking glass and use it like i would a cookie cutter. as for the comment about shortening the videos, the majority of Dede's videos are like that.

thanks for the advice but when i do that then people get upset that I am not explaining and showing enough...so i'd rather show more than leave people with questions :)

This gal seems like a sweetie, however, may I give a gentle piece of advice? For those of us who don't have time to sit for a full 8 minutes for 1 recipe, might it be possible to edit these videos to cut out some unnecessary stuff in order to shorten. For eg., show beginning and end of rolling out dough...not whole thing. Would be very helpful. Thanks.

Nice. As usual. I think I would crumble some feta cheese into the still hot crusts, after they are baked. Great idea though, I WILL give it a try, great snack for the kids after school.

What a great idea! I will make a lot for my English students next week. For variety (taste and color) may make a creamed salmon version and... something green.. hmmm. You can also use a floured mouth of a water glass to cut quick uniform circles. Thanks always, Dede! 5*'s
