Chicken kefta is another great way to serve chicken with a Mediterranean twist. Instead of the same old chicken breast, try buying ground up chicken breast and try this recipe out, it adds a lot of flavor to the chicken and is a healthy way to spice up dinner. This can be served as an appetizer or main dish for lunch or dinner. Total Time: 16 minutes Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 6 minutes Yield: 4-6 Level: Easy Ingredients 1 lb ground chicken 1 tbs DedeMed's kefta kabob seasoning 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 1/2 cup chopped parsley 1/2 cup finely chopped white or yellow onion 3-5 tbs olive oil 2 tbs butter(optional) cabbage slaw: 2 cups finely sliced red cabbage 3 tbs parsley 3 tbs olive oiil 3 tbs balsamic vinegar 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper Directions Start off by mixing all of the ingredients except the olive oil in a bowl, combine all of the ingredients well. Preheat a pan on medium heat, add 3-5 tbs of the olive oil. Cook for 3 minutes on the first side and then 3 more minutes on the other side. Add the butter right before the chicken is done cooking. These can also be grilled as well for the same amount of time. Serve with DedeMed's garlic sauce and pita bread. For the cabbage slaw, mix all of the ingredients right before serving.

Marhaba Dede. As usual, great recipes! U know, for the garlic sauce, theres another one you can try: boil a mid sized potato, wait till it cools, mash it, add the garlic, the lemon, olive oil, salt, black pepper, some cumin(optional). U need to make it a bit runny, so add a bit of water. Then u can enjoy it! What do u think?

Chicken Kefta Sliders! Yum! They could only be delicious. How do You like cooking with gas now, instead of electric? I prefer gas, but electric is okay if one knows how to work it. Kitchen looks great, food looks fantastic! Thanks for the recipe!

@datzfast In general, all fats are at about 120 calories per tablespoon. Like you said, butter is higher in cholesterol and saturated fats. But in moderation that should be fine. I think the idea is you could completely skip that step at the end and not add the extra butter (or oil). I'm of the opinion that if you are cooking these from scratch (with the help of Dede's spices) and eating a reasonable portion, it should be fine either way. Chances are this is better than even "healthy" fast food.

@dedemed Come on Red Wings! 2 more games! Would be great to see a few of the guys that are thinking of retiring pull off one more cup.

Looks like a great idea for slidders. I've made plenty of kefta but usually on skewers on the grill. Seeing them in patties made me think of the possibility of sliders. Maybe a little tomato, parsley, yogurt, and sour pickles to top them. Also if people like butter but want to avoid it, one alternative can be coconut oil. It isn't quite as good at browning and has a different flavor. But I've used it in place of butter a lot.
