Description

 

 Mediterranean Chicken Recipe, Suffed and Rolled in Phyllo Dough. 

 

 

Recipe

 

 Serves: 4
Difficulty: Easy
Prep and Cook time: 30 minutess

3 cups cooked chicken
2 cups sliced onions
3 tbs olive oil
2 tbs sumac
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup melted butter
1 package phyllo dough

In a sauce pan add olive oil and onions and cook on medium heat, shred chicken and add to onions, add salt if chicken is not salted, cook for 5 minutes or until lightly brown.  Remove from heat and add sumac, paprika, black pepper and cayenne pepper.  Lay out phyllo dough to about
8 x 10 inch pieces and brush with butter.  Add 2 tbs chicken to 1 sheet of phyllo dough, fold in sides and roll.  Repeat until all chicken is done.  Place rolls open end down in a pan and brush with butter on top.  Cook in preheated oven at 400 degrees fahrenheit for 15 minutes or until golden brown, serve as a side dish or appetizer.

Great recipe. I'm wondering if you will be making the traditional
Mousakhan - roast chicken w/onions baked in a dish with sumac and pita bread on
top? I want to make it, but I'll wait for your video, they are
great!

HI Carlos,
Good job, trying to speak Arabic. Sumac is dried berry that is
ground up and then used as seasoning. It is a redish/purple color. You can order
it on my store page
