Hummus with Meat is a variation of the traditional hummus dish.
Hummus or hummus bi tahini (Arabic: حُمُّص) also spelled hamos, houmous, hommos, hommus, hummos, hummous or humus) is a dip or spread made of blended chickpeas, sesame tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.
Recipe
2 cups traditional prepared hummus - see Dede's hummus video recipe 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp seven spices 1 tbs. butter 1/2 cup pine nuts 1 tbs. chopped parsley 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
Spread prepared hummus in a flat dish. Sprinkle paprika on top. In a skillet brown the ground beef on medium heat, to it add the salt, black pepper and 7 spices. Sprinkle the ground beef on top of hummus. In another pan, melt the butter and add the pine nuts and brown on low heat until lightly browned, sprinkle on top of ground beef and hummus. On top of the pine nuts sprinkle the parsley and drizzle the olive oil. Serve with pita or toasted pita chips.

Well for the dough you can check out my dough recipe. For the cheese you should mix half shredded akawi cheese and half shredded mozerlla cheese. You can find the akawi cheese at a Middle Eastern grocery store. If you can't find it you can use kashkaval cheese which is found at many ethnic markets. You can really use any cheese you like on the bread. Check out my manaeesh video to see how to roll out the dough and cook it
I am so happy that I have come across your site! I live very close to Dearborn, MI which has a massive Arabic population. I have come to love Arabic food and I am converting friends and family to the wonderful flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine. Unfortunately, finding good recipes for Middle Eastern food, even on the internet, is nearly impossible. Your recipes and your video instruction are truly a blessing!
I found your web site when researching a recipe for Lebanese spinach pies.
I have always loved Middle Eastern food. I was born in Italy and moved to the US when I was 10 years old. I am trying to learn to cook Arabic food and have researched several books.
I just want to tell you that your recipes are just great. The spinach pies came out fantastic. Your variation with the tomatoes is interesting; I have never had them with tomato.
